  • Local Agenda 21 Book

The Local Agenda 21 book includes four main sections: the first provides an overview of Bethlehem Governorate and outlines the vital development projects to overcome the challenges facing sustainable development at the Governorate level; the second provides an assessment of the existing conditions in the locality; the third addresses the institutional arrangements and structures; and the forth presents the elements of the local sustainability action strategy. The book was prepared in Arabic, but includes an executive summary in English.

  • Final Conference Report

The final national conference "Local Sustainable Development in the Bethlehem Governorate" organized on 25.10.2008, highly contributed to disseminating the project's results; transferring the gained knowledge to other local authorities; launching the Local Sustainability Action Strategies “Local Agendas 21"; and providing the involved local authorities with the opportunity to identifying potential funding sources to increase the possibility of implementing the actions and projects identified in the strategies.

Among the major outcomes of the conference is the formation of a committee from all stakeholders to study and analyze the projects identified in the Local Agendas 21  in order to come out with a list of the high priority vital joint projects that should be urgently implemented to meet the needs of people. The conference results and recommendations are presented in the conference report.
